§ 4-1. Keeping cattle, etc. prohibited, with exceptions.

It shall be unlawful for any person to keep or have any horses, mules, cattle, sheep,
hogs, goats, livestock, other farm animals, rabbits, chickens, or fowls at any place
within the corporate limits of the town except as specifically permitted as provided
in this article. Horses, mules, cattle, sheep, hogs, goats, livestock, and other farm
animals are controlled specifically by the provisions of section 4-4.
In addition to special permits issued by the mayor and council as provided in section 4-4, special permits, with requirements and restrictions, may be issued by the mayor
and council for approved FFA, 4H and other school or academic projects, in the sole
discretion of the mayor and council, at any town council meeting after the special
permit request is properly placed on the published agenda for the meeting as required
by the code of ordinances. The special permit application and authorization complying
with the preceding sentence shall be on standard forms established and approved by
the mayor and council.
