§ 3-04. Compensation

A.

The salary of the mayor shall be three thousand dollars ($3,000.00) per month and the mayor shall be eligible for retirement or social security benefits which are available to town employees.

The above salary shall take effect upon the term of office of the Mayor starting with the term effective after the expiration of the current term of office of the current Mayor.

All forms of compensation other than salary shall remain as provided in the Home Rule Charter provision Sec. 3-04.

B.

The council may, by ordinance, change the compensation of the mayor provided that no ordinance changing such compensation shall be adopted during the last year of the term of the mayor and further provided that a change shall not become effective during the term of the mayor in office at the time the compensation is changed.

C.

The mayor shall, upon presentation or properly documented receipts, be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out the official duties of the office.
